Aubrey Sitterson
Artist: Fico Ossio

But now, with adulthood tightening its grip, they're forced to reconcile their regrets and resentments, coming to terms with the lives they've chosen. Why It’s Cool: No One Left To Fight is just such a wonderful spin on stories about big world-saving battles, in that it picks up years after one and takes a close look at the interpersonal relationships of the characters who were involved. As the title implies, there is truly no one left to fight (sort of), and now the characters must process love, romance, and rivalries in a more interesting way. It’s all powered too by Fico Ossio’s incredible artwork and design.

Panorama by Michel Fiffe
Writer/Artist:
Michel Fiffe
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
From the archives of Copra creator, Michel Fiffe, comes a body-horror romance of epic proportions. Panorama follows the adventures of teenage couple Kim & Augustus as they navigate their way through a shared, unwanted ability they can't control. Panorama blends chiaroscuro with a kinetic line that perfectly captures runaways trying to find love, define identity, and survive a metamorphosis unlike anything ever seen before. From the creator of Copra and Zegas!
Why It’s Cool: If you’re a fan of Michel Fiffe’s opus, Copra, well — you’re probably not even reading this because you’re already sold on his work, but if not, just know that every page of Fiffe’s work is essentially something you’ve never seen before, culled from a diverse set of influences throughout comics, from the ‘80s Suicide Squad to Keith Giffen to more obscure influences. It’s just plain great comics and there’s nothing else like it anywhere in the industry. This is I believe a reprint of some of Fiffe’s earlier work, and a must-read for his fans.

The Mask: I Pledge Allegiance to The Mask
Writer:
Christopher Cantwell
Artist: Patric Reynolds
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Years ago, a weird mask of unknown origin and limitless power was buried in the cement of an apartment building's basement floor. Edge City and its residents have all but forgotten the mysterious green-faced killer known only as ''Big Head.'' But now, decades later, the bizarre Tex Avery--style killings are happening all over again and are on a collision course with a bizarre political campaign where a homicidal maniac wants to ''Make America Green Again''! Collects issues #1–#4 of the series.
Why It’s Cool: I’m going to be honest about something here — I’d never read a Mask comic before reading this book, which I essentially picked up because I’m such a big fan of both of the creators, Christopher Cantwell and Patric Reynolds. And it’s an understatement to say that I was not disappointed. This was a great read, with the absurdity of American politics over the past four years taking center stage and serving as a great introduction to this franchise and character.

The Visitor: How And Why He Stayed
Writer:
Mike Mignola and Chris Roberson
Artist: Paul Grist
Colorist: Bill Crabtree
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
In 1944 Hellboy was conjured in a ceremony meant to give Hitler the ultimate occult weapon. Fortunately, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm was there to witness, and to guide Hellboy to become the world's greatest paranormal detective. But Bruttenholm wasn't the only witness to Hellboy's arrival. The Visitor: How and Why He Stayed reveals the aliens who monitored Hellboy's arrival on earth, and why the assassin they sent to earth stayed his hand. Collects The Visitor #1-#5 and the Visitor short story from the Hellboy Winter Special 2017.
Why It’s Cool: Last year, d. emerson eddy and I read every single Hellboy comic ever published, including auxillary series and the BPRD books. My favorite among these was The Visitor - How And Why He Stayed, which takes a throwaway panel in an early Hellboy comic and extrapolates it into a poignant and moving romantic story about racism, oppression, and acceptance of the other. Whether you’re a long-time Hellboy fan or have never read a Hellboy comic in your life, I think this book has something to offer.
