Hey everyone! Checking in with a first week update on my new Kickstarter campaign, Death of Comics Bookcase, Vol. 2 - Reign of the Comics Bookcases. Week 1 was BUSY. We raised nearly $5,000 in the first 3 days, which is fantastic. The best part of any campaign is the opening, with all the returning readers/supporters eagerly getting their pledges in. I’m super grateful for it. A highlight was getting to right a first-person piece of one of the partial inspirations for the book — the now-deceased Stratford Square Mall in Bloomingdale, Ill. — for The Beat. You can read that here: EXCLUSIVE - How my hometown dead mall inspired my new comic The past 3 days things have slowed (as they always do during a Kickstarter), but we’ve still raised another ~$600, putting us within about $900 of funding the book a reality. I think we’ll still make our goal, but I’m hoping for my own psychological well-being, it happens THIS WEEK, rather than in the final moments of the campaign.
